Should you own or should you rent? The tax implications may be the deciding factor.
Most taxpayers are aware that they can sell a home and probably pay no tax. Yet many of them get caught by not meeting the strict requirements. Also, many are not aware of the nonqualified use rules that can result in some tax. It is a fallacy to think that all mortgage interest on a home is deductible. There are strict requirements and limitations on deducting mortgage interest, and these were modified by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and then made permanent by the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act. In addition to covering the rules governing the tax-free sale of a home, this webinar will cover the other advantages of home ownership including deductions for property tax, mortgage interest and home office deductions.
THIS WEBINAR IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CTEC CREDIT.
Who should attend: Taxpayers who want to understand the tax implications of home ownership, including the rules for tax-free sale of a home, and deductions for property tax, mortgage interest, and home office expenses
