Fraud in Small and Mid-Sized Governments  

This session examines fraud risks in small and mid-sized government organizations and explains why limited staffing and weaker oversight increase vulnerability. Participants will learn common fraud schemes, detection methods, and practical internal control strategies to mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse.

This course meets the requirements to qualify for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) fraud category, but it does not meet the requirements for California Fraud credit because it is not specifically focused on the prevention, detection, and/or reporting of fraud affecting financial statements.
