Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) must meet requirements defined by their state licensing board of accountancy to maintain their CPA license. Most state licensing boards require that CPAs maintain and improve their skills through Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses.
CPE courses come in a variety of formats. Self-study courses are completed individually and require a test or exam to earn CPE credit. Courses that are considered live events, such as in-person seminars and online webinars, do not require an exam or test for CPE credit. Checkpoint Learning offers a variety of CPE courses for CPAs.
