Chuck Borek received his joint law degree and MBA summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law and Merrick School of Business, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of law review and was awarded the 1993 Law Faculty Award. After practicing law for several years in Baltimore, he was appointed Associate Professor of Accounting and Business Law at Prince George's Community College and later served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Following the conclusion of his visitorship, he practiced public accounting as a principal in a Washington, DC-area CPA firm for five years before founding The Borek Group, LLC, a professional education and consulting firm located in Columbia, Maryland, where he now serves as CEO and Chief Counsel. Mr. Borek is a frequent lecturer on a variety of topics associated with law, accounting, and taxation. He conducts and develops dozens of continuing education courses each year for CPAs and attorneys, including live seminars, webinars, and satellite broadcasts, and has been named Discussion Leader of the Year by both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Surgent CPE. In addition to his professional education and consulting activities, he serves as Associate General Counsel to FreeWill Co., a benefit corporation that develops software products. He also currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member at American University Washington College of Law. In addition to his professional licenses and degrees, Mr. Borek holds a D.Min. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Masters Degree in theology and the arts from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
