Timothy G. McLaughlin is a skilled and experienced senior global executive with over 35 years in finance, strategic planning, operations, risk management, and overall business administration. Professional Experience: Mr. McLaughlin was a consultant serving a select group of global clients through his firm, McLaughlin Consulting LLC. Prior to this, Mr. McLaughlin served for over 17 years as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer to CFA Institute, a global association of over 142,000 investment professionals in 159 countries. CFA Institute administers the Chartered Financial Analyst Program and awards the CFA designation, as well as administers other professional designations. These programs have over 200,000 candidates globally. In his responsibilities, Mr. McLaughlin oversaw all aspects of finance, strategic planning, operations, logistics, and risk management. In addition, during his career at CFA Institute in his function as Chief Administrative Officer, he oversaw at various times the departments of information technology, human resources, professional conduct, and the general counsel's office. Reporting to the CEO, he served on the organization's Leadership Team and additionally, as an elected officer of the organization, he reported directly to the CFA Institute Board of Governors, serving as corporate liaison to the board's Audit Committee, Planning Committee, and Retirement Investment Planning Committee. He also served on the IT Governance Committee and chaired the Investment Committee and acted as a director, president, or treasurer in most of the organization's 17 sub-entities across the globe. Before joining CFA Institute, Mr. McLaughlin was the Director of Finance for the University of Virginia Medical Center, holding a general faculty position as lecturer. In addition, he was a lecturer in the University of Virginia's College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to that, he has also served as controller and held positions in financial planning at Siemens AG and Cooper Industries. Professional Activities: Mr. McLaughlin is the author and/or editor of 15 works in accounting and business, four of which were reviews for professional examinations: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified in Financial Management (CFM). Additionally, Mr. McLaughlin has been a speaker on Sarbanes-Oxley for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has served on numerous boards, including the Board of Directors of the University of Virginia Physicians Group. Education and Professional Credentials: Mr. McLaughlin holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia College of Arts & Sciences, with an additional major in Accounting from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce, and the terminal degree of MFA from the University of Virginia Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. He holds the charters and certifications of: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
